Dominican merengue superstar Juan Luis Guerra headed the construction of a children’s hospital in Haiti, according to the online website Dominican Today.
The hospital, which is being built in Port-au-Prince, will be funded by $2.5 million the singer raised in a concert he held April 18th in the Dominican Republic.
The concert, called “Un canto de esperanza por Haití” (A song of hope for Haiti), was organized by the nine-time Latin Grammy award winner and included performances by Juanes, Alejandro Sanz and Enrique Iglesias, according to the website.
