Jill Zarin 'hoping for a miracle' amid husband's cancer battle

Jill Zarin has shared an unfortunate update on her husband’s cancer diagnosis.
“His cancer took an unexpected turn,” the “Real Housewives of New York” alum told People of her husband Bobby. “But he is not going down without a fight.”
Bobby, 70, was first diagnosed with thyroid cancer in June 2009 and it returned to his brain this past November. His latest update comes as Jill, 52, is in final stages of planning her fifth annual Hamptons gala that raises money for International Thyroid Oncology Group.
“I want everybody to show up on Saturday happy to celebrate Bobby because he is still with us and he is fighting,” she said of the event, which typically attracts a famous crowd including fellow “Housewives.”
But Jill has been absent from putting on the party’s finishing touches as she is at Bobby’s side while he recovers from a procedure at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
“I’m in shock,” she said. “I’m in physical shock. I’ve lost 8 pounds already. He was doing well for a very, very long time. Then the cancer came back in his brain last fall and since then, it’s been one thing after another.”
As for his recovery, Jill said, “We’re hoping for a miracle.”
