Jason Aldean and Brittany Kerr's complicated courtship is getting a happy ending.
The duo are engaged after Aldean popped the question to Kerr at the San Diego Zoo on Tuesday, People reports.

The country rocker, 37, and the "American Idol" alum, 26, were first linked back in 2012 when photos surfaced of the two getting cozy in a Los Angeles bar when Aldean was still married.
He apologized for the incident, saying he "screwed up" and planned to work on his marriage. However, Aldean and his wife, with whom he has two children, split in 2013.
He and Kerr later began dating, which elicited outcry from the public. "So sick of people judging me and @brittanykerr over things they know nothing about. I have made mistakes but I am a better person because of it, and wouldn't change a thing," he wrote on Instagram last month. "I'm happier than I have ever been, so thank u to all the people who support us. We are happy and life goes on. It's time to move on people. #aldeanarmy #oldnews #timetomoveon."
