Golden Globes ratings with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler to hit 7-year high

Maybe NBC and Dick Clark Prods. should try to make Tina Fey and Amy Poehler permanent Golden Globes hosts?
A second hosting turn by the female duo, who also are set to return in 2015, resulted in another ratings bump for the awards show last night. In time-adjusted metered-market households, NBC’s three-hour live telecast drew a 14.1 household rating/21 share, up 8 percent from last year, which was the Globes’ best metered-market result since 2007.
Now the Golden Globes have hit a seven-year high, logging their best result since the January 15, 2007 telecast (16.0/23). It was the highest rating for the awards show since introducing a host in 2010. Local people meters results indicate a 4 percent increase in adults 18-49 from last year in the top markets.
Like last year, the Golden Globes aired on a night of an NFL overrun. But unlike last year, when the football game aired 7 minutes into the Globes telecast, this year it ended at 8 PM ET, just as the awards show was starting. It was a strong AFC Divisional Playoff game, in which the Denver Broncos defeated the San Diego Chargers. It drew a 25.1/42 in the metered markets from 4:45-8 PM, up 5 percent from last year.
