Oops, she did it again!
Britney Spears leads Billboard's Dance/Club Play Songs chart and this week's 411 Playlist.
The pop diva's hit "I Wanna Go" off her "Femme Fatale" album takes her straight to the top. Spears will be honored at an award show that she is no stranger to, the MTV Video Music Awards. She has turned heads with her performances at the show and executive producer Amy Doyle says "Britney will be at the show and we'll be paying tribute to her."
Fellow pop princess Katy Perry makes history again this week as well. The songstress's hit "Last Friday Night" finally reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100, which makes her the first female to have five singles off of an album reach that pinnacle.
Billboard.com also reports that the only other artist to do so is the "King of Pop" himself, the late Michael Jackson.
And speaking of legends, this was a big week for music as it honored Elvis Presley. "Elvis Week" is the place to be for music fans as thousands descend upon Graceland to mark the 34th anniversary of the death of the King. Vigils were held to commemorate the man who many claim is the father of rock and roll.
August 16th also marked a very special day for one Texas girl. Caroline Gonzalez was named mayor for the day of Forney, Texas. One of her first tasks was to honor the pint-sized pop star Justin Bieber by renaming a street in her hometown "Justin Bieber Way." Residents didn't have to worry about changing their addresses as the new street name lasted as long as her time in office, twenty four hours.
Releasing new material this week, Blue October's very heartfelt album "Any Man in America" hits stores. The album is a very personal one for lead singer Justin Furstenfeld who explains to FoxNews.com Live! that the album is an "audio journal" of his continuing battle with the mother of his daughter.
And in television news, Jennifer Lopez signed on to the 11th season of "American Idol." The Latin superstar returns as judge alongside Aerosmith's front man Steven Tyler and "American Idol" veteran Randy Jackson.
The hit show returns on January 22nd.
