If Jennie Runk's story is any indication of how the fashion industry works, aspiring models should really consider applying for a position at PetSmart.
The up-and-coming beauty stopped by FNM's studios to discuss her recent campaigns and experiences as a plus-size model, and explained how she was discovered at 14 while volunteering for the pet store's Chesterfield, Missouri, location.
"Mary Clarke from Mother Model Magagement came in to buy dog food," recalls Runk in our exclusive interview. "She talked to my mom and said, 'Is that your daughter? She's beautiful. She should be a model!"
Runk adds that her career "kind of went from there," but that's putting it lightly. In her time as a model, Runk has already appeared in ads for Marina Rinaldi, Twilfit, and even one highly publicized H&M swimwear campaign.
"I had no idea that it was going to get so much publicity, and that it was going to blow up like it did," says Runk of the H&M campaign. "When it came out, I found the pictures and I think I shared them on my Instagram. I was like, 'Look at my H&M swimsuits! Aren't they cool?' It really blew up unexpectedly."
Watch the video above for more from Runk — including her feelings on being a plus-size model and a peek at those H&M photos — and then be sure to check out some of her recent work below.
