A trial over veteran television actor Stephen Collins' divorce is being delayed.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Scott Gordon granted a motion Wednesday by the lawyer for Collins' ex-wife to resign from the case hours before a trial was scheduled to begin in Los Angeles. Another judge then continued the trial to allow Faye Grant to find a new lawyer.

Attorney Larry Ginsberg filed a motion stating he had a conflict and could no longer represent Grant.

The former couple was scheduled to start an eight-day trial Wednesday afternoon on how to divide their assets and how much spousal support Grant should receive.

Gordon said after speaking with Ginsberg and Grant that there was a breakdown in the attorney-client relationship, but Ginsberg's motion wasn't an attempt to delay the trial.
