The lawyer for Bill Cosby accuser Chloe Goins says the comedian could be in big trouble if he is charged and the case goes to trial.
“If he is charged in my client’s case, the attorney can utilize every other statement from all the other girls to establish a method of operation for Mr. Cosby, which means that all of these other women could have a voice in court one day,” attorney Spencer Kuvin said. “There is a law, habit law, that uses evidence to establish a method of operation for a criminal.”
The "girls" Kuvin is referring to are the long list of women who have accused Cosby of drugging them and molesting them. Kuvin’s client Goins, 24, met with the Los Angeles police detectives for over two hours last Wednesday to file an official criminal complaint against the TV star.
Goins’ says Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted her at a 2008 Midnight Summer’s dream party at the Playboy Mansion.
Kuvin told FOX411 the LAPD is taking Goins’ claims seriously, and will be conducting a thorough investigation.
Kuvin said the LAPD would be looking into everything and would be back in touch with them in a few weeks.
“There are numerous possible crimes he could be charged with based upon the facts as explained to by my client,” he said. “It’s not up to me or my client what and if they charge him with. It’s up to them (LAPD).”
Kuvin said he was instructed by the LAPD to not share the evidence Goins presented.
“There’s technically no gag order,” he said. “The LAPD has asked us not to discuss the details of the case, and there is additional evidence that we have discussed with the police and they would like to investigate that.”
Los Angeles police Commander Andrew Smith said Tuesday could not confirm any investigation, and that sex abuse cases were "extremely confidential."
Kuvin said he has not had any communication with Cosby’s legal team or the Playboy Mansion.
FOX411 reached out to the Playboy Mansion numerous times but did not receive comment.
Cosby, 77, has maintained his innocence in the face of the onslaught of accusations against him. His lawyer Marty Singer has denied some of the accusations against Cosby, saying they have been discredited or come from discredited accusers.
