Rare 1965 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud with rock 'n' roll pedigree to go under the hammer for $225,000

A incredibly rare 1965 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud III DHC is due to go on sale in Cambridgeshire later this month.

Estimated to fetch as much as $225,000 the stylish blue convertible possess a strong pedigree in rock ‘n’ roll history.

Up until 2016, the vehicle was owned by world-renowned composer Vangelis – most well known for the scores for Chariots of Fire and Blade Runner.

Vangelis owned the vehicle for 23 years after he purchased it from former drummer of The Faces and The Who, Kenney Jones.

It also includes a special cocktail cabinet under the dashboard, complete with crystal glasses and carafe.

Originally manufactured in Regal Red, the vehicles was re-sprayed blue in the 1980’s.

Hardly ever driven by the Greek composer, the vehicle has been stored in a London garage for the best part of the last two decades, but is still UK registered.

The car will be sold by H&H auctioneers from the Imperial War Museum Duxford, Cambridgeshire, on March 29.
