Nobel Peace Prize laureates are discussing challenges facing the world: armed conflicts, economic inequality and migration.

The 13th annual summit that opened Monday is held for the first time in Eastern Europe to mark 30 years since former Polish President Lech Walesa was awarded the prize for leading Solidarity movement that toppled communism in Poland.

Soviet Union's last President Mikhail Gorbachev initiated the summits in 2000.

Iran's Shirin Ebadi, former South Africa President Frederik de Klerk and the Dalai Lama are among the participants.

Walesa, who recently turned 70, said he wants to discuss migration and mixing of cultures.
