Just weeks after promoting his new book on the ins and outs of defending Casey Anthony, Florida attorney Jose Baez is now in the headlines once again after the mother of one of the “Dark Knight Rises” shooting victims hired him to represent her.

Entertainment gossip site TMZ is reporting that the popular lawyer has been tapped to represent Shirley Wygal, who lost her 32-year-old daughter Rebecca Wingo, during the July 20th Aurora, Colo., shooting after a gunman opened fire during the midnight screening of the “Dark Knight Rises.”

Wygal tells TMZ that she thinks the theater is also at fault for the incident because the emergency exits had no alarms and no security guards were stationed there.

"I've engaged a firm large enough to help us all. I am confident in their expertise and appreciate their making this a priority,” Wygal told TMZ.

“Rebecca would love these attorneys. As a mom, she'd want her girls to have the truth. As a daughter, she'd insist I find that truth for them."

Questions from Fox News Latino to Baez and his team in regards to representing Wygal went unanswered.

Baez recently sat down with Fox News Latino to talk about the Casey Anthony trial, which garnered international attention and turned him from an unknown lawyer to household name.

Baez, who released a new book called "Presumed Guilty: Casey Anthony, The Inside Story," was vilified by members of the media and scrutinized by critics.

The case was probably the most captivating since the O.J. Simpson trial, and even had some calling Baez the Latino Johnny Cochran.

In 2008, 2-year-old Caylee Anthony was reported missing by her mother over a month after she was last seen. Anthony was eventually arrested and charged with first-degree murder. After a six-month trial, Anthony was acquitted of all charges.
