A woman has told German investigators that she was held captive for around three months and physically abused by a couple who are in custody for the deaths of two other women.

Police in western Germany say investigators traveled to the Berlin area Tuesday to interview the woman. The 51-year-old says she answered a personal ad placed by one of the suspects in 2011 and traveled to their house in the town Hoexter.

She says she returned for a second visit at the end of 2011 and was locked into the house and was physically abused.

Police said Wednesday that in March 2012 she was put on a train home following a "significant physical dispute." They say she didn't contact authorities then for fear of further violence.
