Can I get a burrito supreme with a side of $20 bills?
For some Taco Bell customers in Kentwood, Mich., that is exactly what happened.
After hitting up the drive-thru, Kennidi Rue and her friends Luke Postma and Grant Kruse discovered $3,600 in cash in one of their to-go bags.
"I opened my bag to get my food and it ended up being three bags of money – a lot of money – and then another wad of like a ton of twenties," Rue told the local Michigan TV station WZZM. "We added it up. We were like, 'What do we do with this now?'"
But instead of keeping the cash for themselves, like many people would do, the young trio did the unthinkable and returned their fast food treasure.
"Of course, initially, you want to keep it, of course,” Rue said. “But then you're like, 'What's the right thing to do?' We were saying we'd never feel guilty about bringing it back."
The moment the friends delivered the cash back to the employee who gave them the accidental order, she started to cry.
The friends said they checked their bag before leaving the eatery to make their order was taken correctly.
“You always have to check as soon as you’re gonna leave so you're not five miles down the road with the wrong order,” one of the passengers in the car said.
It's still unclear where the cash came from, or how it ended up going through the drive-thru window.
