The Palestinian Red Crescent says several people have been wounded in clashes with the Israeli military during an arrest raid in the West Bank.

It says eight people were wounded by live fire early Saturday in the northern town of Nablus. A Palestinian security official says seven members of the Islamic militant group Hamas were arrested. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to brief reporters.

There was no immediate comment from Israel's military.

Hundreds of Israeli troops have been deployed to the West Bank to search for the suspected Palestinian gunmen who killed an Israeli couple as they drove home on Thursday.
