A 20-year-old man in Central Florida is lucky to be alive after his vehicle crashed into a tree and completely split in half on Tuesday night.
The Winter Haven Police Department released shocking photos of the 1986 Nissan 300zx completely torn apart after the driver's car slid off the roadway and hit the tree.
The front engine is one of the halves, the back seats and trunk are the other.
Driver Carlos Pino was wearing his seat belt and was airlifted to Lakeland Regional Health with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say a combination of wet roads and speed appear to have been factors in the crash.
The investigation is still ongoing but according to the official statement from police, Pino was traveling westbound when he slid while turning a curve. Pino lost control and skid sideways.
Charges are pending.
