Queen Mary 2 searches for missing crewmember off the coast of Newfoundland

LONDON – The Cunard cruise line says a search is under way off the coast of Newfoundland for a missing crew member who has gone overboard off the Queen Mary 2.

The cruise line says in a statement that it has "clearly established that the crew member went overboard" Saturday morning. It has now turned around to search for the missing person.

The Queen Mary 2, the Cunard flagship, was set to arrive in Halifax on Monday. It left Southampton on Tuesday.

Cunard did not provide details of the incident, only saying it is working closely with local authorities.
