Chilean president Michelle Bachelet starts a two-day official visit to France aimed at boosting economic exchanges between the two countries.

Bachelet is to meet with French President Francois Hollande later Monday at the Elysee Palace, where she will attend an official dinner organized in her honor.

French authorities hope to develop trade with Chile especially in the energy sector, infrastructures and the water industry.

Discussions on climate change are also on the agenda in order to prepare for the U.N. conference that France is to host in December on the matter.
