Two men have been convicted of murdering a professional gambler who was befriended at a casino by a young woman who led him to his death.

Prosecutors say Kyrron Jackson and Nicholas Chandler, aged 28 and 29, tied 56-year-old Mehmet Hassan with parcel tape, kicked him to death and ransacked his apartment looking for cash.

Leonie Granger, who accompanied Hassan home and let the men in, was convicted of manslaughter but cleared of murder.

Prosecutors said Hassan was a familiar figure in London's casinos, and known to keep his winnings at home rather than in a bank.

Granger, 25, wept in the dock when the verdict was announced Wednesday. Chandler swore and lashed out before being restrained by security officers.

They are due to be sentenced April 28.
