BANGKOK – Two activists charged with insulting Thailand's monarchy because of a play they produced have pleaded guilty to the offense, which carries a punishment of three to 15 years in prison.
The two, a university student and a recent graduate, were involved in a play performed at Bangkok's Thammasat University in October 2013 about a fictional monarch and his adviser.

The Rachada Criminal Court in Bangkok announced Monday that the requests of defendants Patiwat Saraiyaem and Pornthip Munkong for suspended sentences would be considered and verdicts announced on Feb. 23.
