Mexican authorities say they have found the partly burned bodies of 11 men dumped on the side of a road in the southern state of Guerrero.

Many of the bodies appear to have been decapitated.

A law enforcement official who was not authorized to be quoted by name said Thursday the bodies were found near the city of Chilapa.

The grisly discovery came on the same day President Enrique Pena Nieto is scheduled to announce a national security plan to fight stubborn wave of drug-gang violence.
