Two passenger planes came close to a terrifying collision after one aircraft taxied across a runway at an airport in Spain just as another was about to land.

The arriving airplane was able to abort its landing, climbing sharply to re-circle the airport before touching down.

Amateur video footage filmed Saturday shows the Aerolineas Argentinas Airbus 340 crossing the runway at Barcelona's El Prat just as the aircraft from Russian airline Utair was making its final approach.

Spanish airport authority AENA said Monday the Russian plane, which officials described only as a Boeing, circled back and landed safely. No passenger on either plane was hurt.

According to The Telegraph, plane enthusiast Miguel Angel was the one who captured the moment on film and described it as "one of the worst experiences I have ever had."

AENA said it has opened an investigation into what happened. It had no details on how close the planes were at the time of the incident.
