A massive rebel bombing struck a military base on Wednesday in Wadi Deif, northwest Syria, according to the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
There was no immediate report of casualties.
The Observatory said rebels placed a large amount of explosives in a tunnel under the base, which is near Idlib.
An activist that spoke to The Associated Press said the tunnel was dug over a period of seven months.
Syrian government officials were not immediately available for comment.
