Report: British man accused in South Africa honeymoon slaying to be extradited in April

JOHANNESBURG – South African authorities say a British man accused of arranging the murder of his bride on their honeymoon trip to South Africa in 2010 will arrive in Cape Town on April 8 following his extradition from Britain.

Eyewitness News, a South African media outlet, reported Sunday that Shrien Dewani is likely to appear in court on the same day of his arrival in South Africa.

Eyewitness News quoted spokesman Mthunzi Mhaga of the South African justice ministry as saying the government and British authorities had been finalizing preparations for Dewani's transfer.

Dewani is accused of hiring a hitman to kill his 28-year-old wife, Anni. She was found shot dead in an abandoned taxi in Cape Town's Gugulethu township in November 2010.
