Romanian PM orders inquiry into delay in locating plane on remote mountain; 2 later died

Romania's prime minister has ordered an inquiry into why it took authorities hours to locate a plane that made a forced landing on a remote mountain, delaying the arrival of medical help. Two people later died.

The seven on board Monday's flight survived the landing at 1,400 meters (4,595 feet), but the pilot and a medical student later died.

Local residents located the stricken plane after 4 ½ hours but medical teams arrived hours later, reportedly due to authorities' failure to initially locate the small craft. Rescue efforts were hampered by heavy snow and dense fog. Prime Minister Victor Ponta Tuesday ordered a report into the response to the emergency.

The five survivors were hospitalized and are in stable condition.

The plane was transporting medics from Bucharest to western Romania to harvest organs for transplant.
