State media: China will loosen 1-child policy, abolish labor camp system

BEIJING – China's Communist Party says it will loosen its one-child policy and abolish labor camps.

The official Xinhua News Agency said Friday the party released a key policy document that said it will now allow couples to have two children if one of the parents is an only child.

Xinhua also says China will abolish a much-criticized labor camp system.
