ACAPULCO, Mexico – Two leftist activists have been found shot to death on Mexico's southern Pacific coast and a third is missing.
The two men were found with their hands bound and gunshot wounds to their heads near Coyuca de Benitez, a town west of Acapulco.
The Emiliano Zapata Revolutionary Agrarian League says victims Raymundo Velazquez Flores and Samuel Vargas Ramirez were members of the group, which was founded by leftist guerrilla leader Genaro Vazquez in the 1960s.
League leader Luis Olivares said Tuesday the bodies were found late Monday, and a third activist is missing.
They had been involved in efforts to obtain greater government support for farmers, and in building support for the Mexican Communist Party.
An environmental activist was killed last week in the Gulf coast state of Veracruz.
