Kosovo police say they have arrested a suspected Balkan drugs kingpin wanted on an international arrest warrant and blacklisted by U.S. authorities.

Naser Kelmendi, 56, a Kosovo-born ethnic Albanian businessman allegedly runs a major cocaine and heroin organization from a family-owned hotel in the Bosnian capital, Sarajevo. Police spokesman Baki Kelani said Monday one more man was arrested. No other details were given.

Last year the U.S. Treasury Department put Kelmendi on a list that bars U.S. citizens from doing business with him and allows authorities to freeze any of his assets in the United States.

Kelmendi is wanted in Bosnia in relation to at least six murders, money transfers and trafficking of drugs into Western Europe.
