Authorities are searching off the Bahamas for two missing fishermen from China who apparently got lost in rough weather.

A spokeswoman for the Royal Bahamas Police Force says the two missing men were with two others in a kayak when the weather turned bad. Spokeswoman Chrislyn Skippings says two men decided to try and swim back to shore and were rescued before they reached shore. The men set off Sunday from Jaw's Beach, on the western tip of the island that includes Nassau, the capital.

The U.S. Coast Guard and officials from the nearby Turks and Caicos Islands are assisting Bahamian authorities in the search Monday for the two men who stayed with the boat.
