Police say they have broken up a network of extreme rightists implicated in dozens of crimes and are holding 10 suspects for questioning.

They say the group had at least 200 members in Upper Austria province and is suspected of illegal arms trading, break-ins, illegal prostitution and other crimes.

In a statement Thursday, police say they found weapons, explosives, and flags with Nazi symbols and neo-Nazi literature in a recent search of the groups' headquarters in Desselbrunn village, about 200 kilometers (120 miles) west of Vienna.

They say crimes committed by group members caused estimated damage of at least 3.5 million euros. ($4.7 million.)

State broadcaster ORF says police originally detained 24 suspects.
