Chief Ronald Morey of the Northampton borough police department told The (Easton) Express-Times that the hospitalized suspect will be charged with at least aggravated and simple assault, burglary, criminal trespass and reckless endangerment.

Allentown police said another man allegedly involved was arrested Sunday and turned over to Northampton police. Morey said a vehicle involved had also been found.

He said police are still trying to find the motive for the home invasion shortly before midnight Saturday, when a man sleeping in a Northampton basement was attacked and reportedly fought back with a machete, cutting off one attacker's hand. That man was dropped off later at a Bethlehem hospital.
