Judge accused of displaying Hitler photo, lying to judicial fitness investigators

An Oregon judge under an ethics investigation after refusing to perform same-sex weddings has been accused of several allegations, including hanging a picture of Adolf Hitler in the courthouse.

Marion County Judge Vance Day says the Hitler portrait was not intended to glorify the Nazi dictator but was part of a display on democracy's defeat of fascism.

A spokesman for Day said last week that the judge was being investigated for refusing to perform same-sex marriages, as well as other allegations.

A state commission on Tuesday disclosed six allegations. They include allowing a man with a felony conviction to handle a firearm in violation of state law, and lying to investigators.

Day denies he broke ethics rules and says he's being targeted because of his religious beliefs.
