A quick-thinking New York State Environmental Conservation officer Tuesday saved a deer—not quite stuck in a headlight—more like a light globe.
Jeff Hull responded to a call Tuesday in the town on Centereach, on Long Island and found a deer lying in the woods with its head stuck in a light globe, News10.com reported.
Hull approached the deer and grabbed at the globe, which was slippery from the morning rain. The deer made a break for it, but its run ended when it slammed into a nearby tree.
Hull wrapped his jacket around the globe and pulled.
The deer kicked and resisted, but eventually was freed and avoided what could have been a slow and agonizing death. The officer appeared all smiles.
