Amber Alert ends as Idaho girls are found in Nevada; father in custody

Published May 16, 2017

Associated Press

Police say two Idaho girls who were reported missing over the weekend have been found safe in Nevada.

The Boise Police Department said in a news release Monday night that 7-year-old Madison Ann Dundon and 6-year-old Jaylynn Dawn Dundon were located in Eureka County in the central part of the state.

Police say their father, 29-year-old Joshua Dundon, was taken into custody.

The Idaho State Police said previously that their father, who has joint custody of the girls, told witnesses they were going camping. His truck was found intentionally burned in Nevada Thursday along with multiple sets of footprints and expired ammunition casings.

The group hadn't been seen since Wednesday morning.

No further information was immediately released.
