Workers at a San Francisco taco restaurant rang in a very happy New Year after a frequent diner left a $2,000 tip as the latest entry in the “Tips for Jesus” movement.
The tip – added to a bill of $50.74 on Jan. 2, included the note “Tips for Jesus.” An image of the receipt was posted on an Instagram account bearing the same name.
A person at the Tacolicious restaurant on Valencia Street said the tipper – who was not identified – is always friendly to the staff.
“He comes in here all the time and he’s amazing,” the person told SFGate.com.
The tip was shared amongst employees at the store.
