An 8-year-old Georgia boy who says he’s considering being a police officer when he grows up has helped catch a suspected car burglar.
Brookhaven police said Chris Mattus was looking out of the window of his home on Sunday night when he saw a man trying to break into his parents' car, MyFoxAtlanta.com reports.
His mom called police and Mattus gave authorities a description of the suspect.
“I said, ‘There was this guy outside and he was looking in your car and another guy came down and joined him and they were both walking down to the next driveway,’” Mattus said.
Police were able to find and arrest both men, one of which was charged with loitering, MyFoxAtlanta.com reports.
Brookhaven Police Chief Gary Yandura will recognize Mattus at an upcoming city council meeting.
