A former campaign intern has been charged with cyber-stalking and illegally obtaining nude pictures of young women that he threatened to make public online.
FBI agents arrested Adam Savader, 21, in his Long Island, N.Y., home earlier this week. He is being held pending a bail hearing, according to a report on NYDailyNews.com.
Savader is a political science student at SUNY Farmingale who has interned for Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.
Authorities found out about Savader's alleged actions when a young woman in Ann Arbor, Mich., alerted police. She said he had hacked into her email account and copied a dozen naked pictures meant for her then-boyfriend.
Savader is accused of threatening to publicize the nude images of 15 young women if they didn't send him more naked photos of themselves. The Daily News reported Savader knew many of the women he allegedly was preying on from high school.
He faces up to five years in prison if convicted.
