Pittsburgh police are searching for a teenager who was caught on video sucker punching a teacher who walked past him in an alley.
James Addlespurger, the 50-year-old victim in the apparently unprovoked assault, was walking by a group of six male teenagers on Oct. 4 when one hit him and knocked him out, the Pittsburgh Post Gazette reports.
Addlespurger fell to the ground and hit his head on the curb. The attacker and his friends glanced back for a moment, but kept walking down the alley.
"He definitely went out of his way to hit him," Detective Al Flemm told the Pittsburgh Post Gazette. "Just random. Terrible."
Police say they have the names of three students but not the attacker.
Addlespurger, who teaches at the Pittsburgh High School for the Creative and Performing Arts, was helped by three passersby and is being treated at a local hospital.
