A New York man has pleaded not guilty to assault during an argument in a Bronx parking lot where his star high school football player son was stabbed and later died.

Andre Muller is accused of hitting a parking attendant over the head with a shovel after an argument following his son's graduation on Tuesday. Prosecutors say the wound required 10 stitches. Police say Isayah Muller was stabbed when he got involved in the fight and later died.
Andre Muller's not guilty plea was entered Wednesday.

He will testify before a grand jury weighing whether to charge the parking attendants in the teen's death. His lawyer didn't return a call seeking comment.
