Authorities are reportedly examining a "significant" piece of evidence in their hunt for a 20-year-old nursing student abducted outside her rural Tennessee home nearly two weeks ago.
Holly Bobo, of Parsons, Tenn., was last seen being led into the woods outside her home by a man dressed in camouflage.
Investigators announced Sunday that they discovered a key item in their investigation but declined to elaborate on the nature of what was found, WSMV-TV reports. The clue was uncovered during an afternoon volunteer ground search for the young woman, prompting law enforcement to expand their search in the same area Monday, according to the station.
"It makes you feel great -- Easter Sunday and finding some good information," Bobo family spokesperson Kevin Bromely told the station. "Hopefully we can expand the search and find out more tomorrow."
Bobo, a nursing student at the University of Tennessee at Martin, was last seen by her 25-year-old brother, Clint, who reported seeing her being taken into the woods at 7:30 a.m. April 13 by a man dressed in camouflage. Clint told police that he initially assumed Holly was with her boyfriend, but said he grew concerned after finding blood outside, prompting him to call 911.
A "small amount" of blood was found in the family's carport and the woman's lunchbox was discovered several miles away from her home.
Hundreds of people gathered for a prayer service for Bobo on Easter Sunday morning at the Decatur County Fairgrounds. Balloons were released along with the prayer service at the fairgrounds.
Police say they believe the alleged abductor may be from the area and possibly acquainted with Bobo and her family. The kidnapper is described as a white man, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds.
Authorities said last week they have received more than 300 "credible leads" so far in the investigation. There is an $80,000 reward for information leading to arrest and conviction.
Holly is described as 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing 110 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt and light blue jeans. Anyone with information on her whereabouts is being urged to call Tennessee law enforcement at 1-800-824-3463.
