Can we say awkward?

A teen’s ride on Hersheypark’s hair-raising Skyrush roller coaster has become an Internet sensation-- and a study of what happens to a 12-year-old’s face when it hits speeds of 75 mph.

Will Poole, a wedding officiant from Wilmington, North Carolina, decided to post the hilarious picture on social networking site Reddit of his son Kylan McKittrick the moment a roller coaster takes a stomach churning plunge.  Under the image is the caption: "This roller coaster photo will haunt my son forever." Poole also posted a helpful photo of his son’s normal face for reference.

After posting the memento from Saturday’s family outing to the Pennsylvania theme park, it quickly went viral and has racked up over 3 million views on the website Imgur.

Poole told FoxNews.com that it was their first time on the ride so they didn’t know what to expect.

“It was intense! Kylan and his brother Asher are big roller coaster fans --we all are really --and we plan on hitting some more theme parks this fall. His face is very misleading in the photo because he was ready to do it again when it was over.”

Skyrush, the tallest and fastest roller coaster at Hersheypark, hits speeds of up to 75 mph and has a 212-foot hil,l which then plunges down an 85-degree drop.

A POV look at the ride and you understand McKittrick’s expression.

Comments on social media to the photo have ranged from shock to suggestions that McKittrick looks like Luke Skywalker.

Some have even criticized Poole for “shaming” his son publicly.

Poole laughs those criticisms off saying not only did he get McKittrick’s permission, his son is basking in all the attention.

“We all laugh at silly stuff we do, especially when it's caught on camera. It's not a big deal to him and he got to talk to one of his favorite YouTube stars, Roman Atwood, because of the photo so he's ecstatic.”
