Have you ever peed in the hotel pool? What about stolen hotel bathroom goodies like slippers or mini shampoos?

A new survey from Travelzoo reveals the top travel transgressions committed by 9,500 travelers from the U.S., the U.K., Canada, China and Germany.

When it comes to peeing in pools or the ocean, Americans are the worst offenders. A whopping 64 percent of vacationers admitted to “taking a tinkle” in public compared to 58 percent of Canadians and 46 percent of Britons.

‘Most of us wonder about things like pool hygiene when we are on holiday and we were truly surprised to see American and Canadian tourists ranking as the worst offenders when it comes to having a covert wee in the swimming pool,” Louise Hodges, Travelzoo spokeswoman said in a statement.

“Perhaps the carefree nature of holidays makes people behave in ways they wouldn’t ordinarily, but the findings are certainly food for thought when it comes to splashing up and down the pool. My tip would be take an early morning dip before the hordes hit the pool.”

With more Americans feel uncomfortable taking all their vacation, it may be a surprise that people in the U.S. were the worst offenders when it came to calling in sick for an extra vacation day.

But when it came to ultimate transgression—i.e. of the marital infidelity—Germans responded that they were the most likely to cheat on a partner while on vacation, with in one in 10 admitting to giving into a wandering eye.
