This is a rush transcript from "The Five," February 5, 2016. This copy may not be in its final form and may be updated.
KIMBERLY GUILFOYLE, CO-HOST: Hello, everyone. I'm Kimberly Guilfoyle along with Juan Williams, Eric Bolling, Meghan McCain and Greg Gutfeld. It's 5:00 in New York City and this is "The Five."
The New Hampshire primaries are only four days away and here's where the GOP raise their stand as of now. The real clear politics average shows Trump is still on top with 31 percent, Rubio still in second place, and Iowa's winner, Cruz in third. Cruz thinks Rubio has gotten a big boost not from his showing in Iowa but from all the media attention that he's getting.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
SEN. TED CRUZ, REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: If momentum were measured by the media, Marco Rubio would already be the Republican nominee. I understand that in the media newsrooms, and in the Washington establishment circles, Marco is the chosen one.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
GUILFOYLE: Is that right? Rubio is taking attacks in stride.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: The other candidates seem to think you have momentum in this race, do you agree? And if so, do you need to do more to defend yourself or just keep talking about what you're talking about?
SEN. MARCO RUBIO, REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: I hope we have momentum. We're working hard and we feel good about the progress we've made in Iowa, the progress we're making here now. And I know this about politics, when everyone's attacking you, you must be doing something right.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
GUILFOYLE: Donald Trump is taking an interesting approach to get the attention of New Hampshire's voters.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
DONALD TRUMP, REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTAIL CANDIDATE: The great slogan of New Hampshire, "Live free or die," means so much to so many people. All over the world they use that expression. It means liberty, it means freedom, it means free enterprise, it means safety and security, it means borders, it means strong, strong military where nobody's going to mess with us. It means taking care of our vets. What a great slogan. Congratulations, New Hampshire. Wonderful job.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
GUILFOYLE: Nationally, Trump still at number one with Cruz and Rubio behind him. Now, if they all finish in the top three on Tuesday, is it the end of the road for everyone else? A fair question. Newt Gingrich thinks so.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
NEWT GINGRICH, FOX NEWS POLITICAL CONTRIBUTOR: Marco has had the best run in the last four or five days. So, everybody who has to get past him, which means Kasich, Bush, Christie, they have all got to shoot at him to try to get past him because if he comes in third, if he and Cruz and Trump are the top three, they will have crowded out everybody else as a practical matter.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
GUILFOYLE: All right, elbows out. What does that mean, Bolling, what do you think?
ERIC BOLLING, CO-HOST: I think what it means is everyone is in fact shooting at Rubio. I just heard some another -- Sheldon Adelson has a big piece of the newspaper in Nevada. He maybe (ph) now, I think, endorsed Marco Rubio. So, the endorsements are starting to come in and of course it's going to make Jeb Bush and the other people who are not Trump or Cruz nervous because they want that lane.
They want that non-outsider lane, the establishment lane. I got to tell you, it feels like its Rubio. It feels like it's coming down to Rubio and either Trump or Cruz. Trump has to sit down and start shaking hands. I think he's done that. He's got the big, you know, he'll fill a stadium, that's great.
But I think what he's doing now is changing the strategy to shake some hands in smaller venues, that's also good. He's going to end up spending a lot of money on "Live free or die" and basically, it says that they're not like anyone else. They're certainly not like the people of Iowa, which means, i think they'll have a vastly different result in New Hampshire than you have in Iowa.
GUILFOYLE: What are you thinking? Get your pen, bolling.
BOLLING: Get my pen.
GUILFOYLE: Get your pen later, Bolling.
BOLLING: Trump, Rubio, air ball.
GUILFOYLE: Air ball?
BOLLING: Trump, Rubio, air ball.
GUILFOYLE: All right, when its air ball it's up there, it is up for anybody to grab, Greg. The ball is in the air.
GREG GUTFELD, CO-HOST: We have to stop with these polls. I am polled out. It's like every two minutes there is a new poll. It is worse than pictures of Jasper or selfies of a shirtless Geraldo. They just keep coming and they keep coming. And New Hampshire is like 1.3 million people so I think 60 percent of them only have land lines.
So, that means that there are now officially more polls than there are people being polled. I've had it. If I were being polled in New Hampshire right now, I would just lie. I would just tell them exactly the opposite. Go, Gilmore -- Gilmore girls. I would say Gilmore girls. But yes, it will be a Rubio sandwich. They're going to have Christie coming from one end. They're going to have Cruz coming from both sides.
He'll be like the slow kid at dodge ball. He's going to get hit a lot and he's got to maintain his focus and he can't get defensive because if he gets defensive, he's a young guy. When you look defensive when you're young, it doesn't look good. But if I were somebody on that stage, I would call him senator Rube-io.
GUILFOYLE: Oh boy, a clever one. Don't quit your day job, okay.
GUTFELD: That was actually good. You (inaudible) the day job if it's bad Kimberly.
GUILFOYLE: I didn't think it was actually good.
BOLLING: I was hoping you (inaudible) you know sandwich over Christie.
GUTFELD: Oh yeah, a Monty Christie
BOLLING: Or a Cuban sandwich.
GUTFELD: A Cuban sandwich.
GUILFOYLE: Oh, not that again.
(LAUGHTER)
GUILFOYLE: Remember yesterday. Okay, but besides that you've also got Kasich is doing very well, has a large number of endorsements. You mentioned Christie and you've got Jeb also spending a lot of money, resources there, getting after it, brought out the family, got his fabulous mom Barbara out campaigning for him and also bringing out the big guns, 43 double barreling it at the rest of them.
MEGHAN MCCAIN, GUEST CO-HOST: Yeah, I mean Jeb Bush is hauling out his mother everywhere, which I think that Barbara Bush is an American icon and truly a treasure in a lot of different ways. I'm going to tell you a secret, a lot of people don't like my father but they love my grandmother who turns 105 on Sunday and she was always ...
GUILFOYLE: Happy Birthday.
MCCAIN: Thank you very much. I think it's brilliant that he is bringing her out. He should have done it a long time ago. He should have brought George W. up a long time ago. How much it ultimately moves to need a leg. We're with you Eric that it's going to be Trump, Cruz, Rubio. Rubio right now though ...
BOLLING: I didn't put Cruz in the mix.
MCCAIN: Oh, I'm sorry ...
BOLLING: I wen Trump, Rubio and then air ball.
MCCAIN: Okay, I say Trump, Rubio or Cruz, but I think with Rubio right now, it's fascinating because we're going to see if this has legs. Because for a while there should have been momentum for him for a long time coming because he pulls the best against Hillary, he has a young family, he's Cuban, a senator -- all the makings of a great candidate. But it hasn't really happened yet. And if he doesn't come in second in New Hampshire, them he's not going to be the nominee.
JUAN WILLIAMS, CO-HOST: You know, it's interesting to me to look at the dynamic that's emerged with the potential alliances now, getting into place as New York Times reported today against Rubio, right, because Rubio is seen as the guy who has been coming on in the last few days. But I come back to something that Greg was talking about, which is the polling.
Remember, all 13 polls wrong in Iowa. And right now the question is, and I think this is why Eric says you see Donald Trump pouring more money in. He's got to be worried that his voters aren't going to even show up in New Hampshire. But the polls indicate, oh no, he's got an insurmountable lead, but I'm starting to wonder about this.
BOLLING: You know this because you've done polling. You've been inside polls. It's harder to poll primaries, harder to poll caucuses than primaries.
WILLIAMS: Yeah, and for just -- well, caucuses are terrible but primaries are hard because of the last few days and you don't know who's jumping where. And people, there are still, I think 40percent undecided in the state of New Hampshire.
(CROSSTALK)
MCCAIN: The New Hamspshire electorate is traditionally incredibly volatile right up until the very end as well. So, this is definitely going to be an eleventh hour as it always is.
WILLIAMS: All right, so I have I have a question for Eric Bolling. Eric, what happened with Trump? Why is he cursing at people?
BOLLING: First of all, he says he didn't drop the f-bomb.
WILLIAMS: Well, quote.
BOLLING: He may have dropped the s-bomb but he's done that before he said bomb the s out of them.
(CROSSTALK)
BOLLING: And he's gotten a lot of attention.
(CROSSTALK)
BOLLING: Here we are, seven and a half, eight minutes into "The Five" and we're talking about Trump's cursing, I mean ...
(CROSSTALK)
WILLIAMS: Okay, okay, so this is ...
BOLLING: Were you offended?
WILLIAMS: I just have not -- I've never seen politics like that. I don't know politicians, major politicians who show up and begin screaming profanity at the crowd. I just don't know it. Now, you said Mrs. Bush was out there. I happen to think it looked kind of sad. I love Mrs. Bush.
MCCAIN: Oh, I don't know.
WILLIAMS: I'm a great admirer of the first President Bush to no end, but to bring your mommy, your 90-year-old mom? Come on, this looks like -- we can't bring your mom to the studio.
(CROSSTALK)
MCCAIN: I'm telling you.
GUTFELD: Juan, you put your best foot forward and she's his best foot. Can I point out one thing because we haven't mentioned the rising star? The rising star is Bernie Sanders and I say that if New Hampshire goes in high, goes in strong on Bernie Sanders, they have to change their motto and live for free or die.
(LAUGHTER)
(CROSSTALK)
BOLLING: Isn't it amazing that New Hampshire, "live free or die," no tax state is basically wanting to elect Bernie Sanders, the socialist who believes in up to a 90 percent tax.
WILLIAMS: Well, he's from the neighboring state.
BOLLING: I understand that.
(CROSSTALK)
BOLLING: You're going live through next to a methadone clinic.
(LAUGHTER)
BOLLING: Live free or die or don't.
WILLIAMS: But I notice -- I notice, and it's true. Bernie must be surging because at this table all of a sudden, before it was all we hate Hillary so much, let's pump up Bernie. Now, the idea that Bernie might be the guy, just say hey, don't forget, he's a socialist. He wants free, everything for free.
MCCAIN: Republicans can beat him like a drum if he is the nominee. This would be a cake walk and Bernie Sanders ends up being the nominee. He's an old socialist. No American is going to go for this and I'm sorry I'm a millennial myself and as much as I adore my generation for a lot of different reasons, I just don't think it is enough to get this man elected.
BOLLING: But he's got a red car.
GUTFELD: I have a red car. I love that. WILLIAMS: Republicans are all about pumping up Bernie because they thought Hillary was titan. Now, they're worried about Bernie. I'm lik shocked.
GUILFOYLE: I love it (inaudible) at this table. I got a memo for you. You're not privy to our secret memo.
(LAUGHTER)
GUILFOYE: That don't exist.
WILLIAMS: But in fact, I write your secrets.
GUILFOYLE: Yeah, he thinks he does, maybe like higher up before the show.
MCCAIN: I actually think he's very wrong about Barbara Bush. Now, I do think a former first lady, the Bush dynasty. I think is something ...
WILLIAMS: She's wonderful.
MCCAIN: ... people will warm to. It's the only part he has to play right now.
WILLIAMS: Oh, there we go. It's the only card he has to play.
(CROSSTALK)
MCCAIN: And this is the best one that I know.
GUILFOYLE: This is the best team for the B-block because that's what we're talking about in the B-block.
GUTFELD: I think we're changing the B-block now.
GUILFOYLE: It was B for Bush.
GUTFELD: Yeah, B squared.
BOLLING: Facebook Friday.
GUTFELD: Facebook Friday.
GUILFOYLE: Facebook Friday
BOLLING: Personally, I kind of (inaudible) today that Jeb Bush has brought some ad time in South Carolina with his brother in the ads which tells you he wants to be around New Hampshire no doubt, but South Carolina is going to be make or break case.
GUILFOYLE: I think that's he's (inaudible) doing that, right, so did the ads with his brother.
BOLLING: I'm not sure of that.
GUILFOYLE: We're going to get back to you on that, when "The Five" returns because we're still on the air, aren't we?
GUTFELD: Yes we are.
GUILFOYLE: Can the three governors in the race pull off a comeback in New Hampshire? In fact, they need to. Jeb Bush tapping some of his favorite family friends, was I lying? -- to help him stay in the race. Barbara and George W., a little bit more of that. We gave you a taste, appetizer. Now here's the whole entr,e.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
BOLLING: New Hampshire is the live free or die state or will it be do or die for candidates like Bush, Kasich, Christie and Fiorina this coming Tuesday? They're all hoping to stay afloat. Jeb has just brought in -- brought in some big names as back up, his mom and his big bro.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH: Our next president must be prepared to lead. I know Jeb. I know his good heart and a strong backbone. Jeb will unite our country. Experience in judgment count in the Oval office. Jeb Bush is a leader who will keep our country safe.
BARBARA BUSH: Jeb is the nicest, wisest, most caring, loyal, disciplined, decent and honest. He's everything we need in a President.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
BOLLING: Hey, we're going to start with you and go counter clockwise.
GUILFOYLE: I just -- you know I love it, right. I just, I love it. I love it. I love the Bush family. I like Jeb. I think he's a great guy. I love W. I love 41. I love the McCains. You know, what can i say? I love family. I think it's so cute and so sweet and she's very believable.
GUTFELD: You love the Manson family.
GUILFOYLE: No. (Inaudible) to the Manson family. But I think this is effective. Look, it works for someone like myself. She is not a phony. This is an authentic genuine human being. I do believe if she did not think that he was very qualified and had what we need as president, she would not go out there.
BOLLING: Good idea or bad idea or that she appeared only she played devil's advocate that he needed some help?
GUTFELD: Yeah, he definitely needed some help because he needs help. And you can argue that, you know, the bush name carries baggage and you can probably argue it persuasively, but his family as Kimberly has pointed out, is very important. What his other problem if, if he starts knocking Rubio, he's got a problem there because he was pushing Rubio as V.P. for Mitt Romney. So, that's going to be a bit weird.
GUILFOYLE: Because he thinks Rubio should be a V.P. perhaps and not president.
GUTFELD: Yeah, but was, you know, and the obvious thought he was very capable and energetic and all ...
BOLLING: You do realize that's the second half of this exact block.
(LAUGHTER)
GUTFELD: We're like mind readers.
BOLLING: All right, so hold that thought.
GUILFOYLE: We can see in the future.
GUTFELD: Yes.
MCCAIN: I was chopping at the bit earlier. I actually think Barbara is an asset. I think W -- it debates which crowd you're with (inaudible) working on. I think meat and potatoes, Republican is great -- independent not as much. This is too little too late. I'm still on the issue (ph) a long time ago coming out saying I'm a dynasty. I'm a legacy, and just roll the dice and see if that works. But he hid behind it so long and I still thinks she's adorable.
BOLLING: I don't have to play the devil's advocate anymore, we have the devil himself.
(LAUGHTER)
(CROSSTALK)
GUILFOYLE: Gosh, you're so mean.
WILLIAMS: I think Mrs. Bush is a wonderful person.
GUTFELD: Too late.
WILLIAMS: No, no, no, but I can tell you this, too, Gregory. You know what? It just looks sad that you have to bring your mom into a school yard fight.
GUTFELD: It's like bringing your mom to a job interview. I did that once.
(CROSSTALK)
WILLIAMS: All right, hold on a second. Let me just finish this stuff. So she comes out and what does it tell you about the state of Jeb Bush's campaign? It tells you that he is in dire straits. And the second thing it tells you is that, here he is, a guy who understands that the Bush nail is baggage at this moment in an ant-establishment --
(CROSSTALK)
WILLIAMS: He brings out someone who reminds everybody, his brother is George w. He's got an ad with George W.
GUILFOYLE: Oh, really?
MCCAIN: Does Chelsea worked for Hillary then? Like, if the mom doesn't work, then does the daughter work for Hillary?
WILLIAMS: Absolutely.
MCCAIN: No, because I think Chelsea is actually, I don't think she's moving the needle at all anyway as a lever.
WILLIAMS: Well, that's true if you're talking about members. You bring them out for a specific reason. So, the specific reason for Chelsea would be young women, right? And that's not moving a needle as you said. So, what's the purpose? You tell me. Anybody, what's the purpose of Jeb Bush?
MCCAIN: I'll tell you the purpose. I'm trying to educate you so I can do it in five seconds. Did you listen to the debates? The biggest applause lines, everything for Jeb is when he brought up his brother and the accomplishments as, you know, the diehard Republicans, they like it.
WILLIAMS: That's a sympathy -- there was a huge crowd. He said he's never seen such a big crowd because he's hanging with me.
BOLLING: Hang in there one second Mr. Juanito. With a lot on the line in New Hampshire, the candidates are pulling out all the stops but what about this? The New York Times is reporting that the Bush and Christie campaigns are teaming up over the next week to try and discredit Marco Rubio. Is it true?
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIPS)
GOV. CHRIS CHRISTIE, REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: More New York Times baloney. I guess they're getting bored with the race with five days to go to New Hampshire, but there are no back channel conversations between me and Jeb Bush.
MEGYN KELLY, HOST OF 'THE KELLY FILE': Is there any coordination? We asked Governor Christie this earlier on Fox News between your team and his to go after Rubio?
JEB BUSH, REPUBLICAN PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: No, no, not at all, but look, the three remaining Governors in the race do have one thing in common. We have to make tough decisions. We've had to balance budgets. We've had to challenge the orthodoxy and the status quo. That's the story I tell. It's a little bit harder when you struggle to even answer the question, what have been your accomplishments?
(END VIDEO CLIPS)
BOLLING: Okay Greg, did they out this little conspiracy and now that both camps are saying no, we don't have the answer?
GUTFELD: They're like the three tenors, these guys. They're all going to sing. I think that, you know, the primary criticism for Rubio is that he is young. He resembles the cool R.A. at your college dorm and if he gets defensive, it is going to make him look small. So instead, he's got to maintain focus and remove himself from whatever this, what would you call it a dog pile if you will or gov pile?
WILLIAMS: Well, the big thing for Rubio is elected early. If you're a Republican and you're looking just thinking, well, maybe this is the future of the party. He does well against both the democrats remaining. But the criticism to me is so stinging. The barbs are so sharp.
GUTFELD: Can it be about Obama?
WILLIAMS: Of course, I sit here and I listen to the barbs every day.
(CROSSTALK)
WILLIAMS: It's partly inexperience, but it's, what are your accomplishments? Santorum who endorsed him this week asked what are yours if any, you know, came up empty. Secondly, this whole notion of the boy in the bubble, were the boy that's scripted. You know, the mention of Cuban boy, I think the boy thing ...
MCCAIN: Me too.
WILLIAMS: ... becomes very heavy at some point
MCCAIN: So, completely it offended me actually. I actually think Chris Christie is looking very desperate and running scared right now. Listen, Chris Christie, Jeb and Kasich, if they don't do something in New Hampshire, it's not only over but they've tarnished their reputation.
BOLLING: Jeb is hanging his hat in South Carolina though, that's his home field
MCCAIN: But if he doesn't do somewhat decently, I'm talking about if he comes in like a sixth or seventh or something.
BOLLING: I would agree with Governor Christie and the other ones, but Jeb, I think he's got the money.
MCCAIN: He has no money.
WILLIAMS: Yeah, he has the money to hang in the race.
MCCAIN: But back to your initial point of actually think referring to Rubio as boy is wildly disrespectful. And I actually thought it was quite offensive. Yes, I mean he's sitting senator.
BOLLING: Doesn't it bother you as Greg points out that Jeb Bush was so pro Rubio for so long and now whether he's asked on TV today, what he has no accomplishments and Jeb says none. Wow. It just feels so political.
GUTFELD: But you (inaudible) remember, Cruz was really nice to Trump and then, you know, turned on him.
GUILFOYLE: Look, there's a lot of that, right. But he has been very supportive to Rubio in the past. So, there's that record that stands on its own.
BOLLING: So which one is it?
(CROSSTALK)
GUILFOYLE: But I think the difference --
(CROSSTALK)
GUILFOYLE: -- running for commander in chief, being president of the United States and everybody is trying to make their best argument so are all the other, you know, the governors. So is Christie is saying the same thing. So is Kasich saying we brought the experience, we have the qualifications.
BOLLING: You're really saying Marco Rubio has no accomplishments.
GUILFOYLE: I like Marco Rubio.
WILLIAMS: Here we go, name him.
(CROSSTALK)
GUTFELD: He's the only guy to put a dent in ObamaCare, that's for sure.
WILLIAMS: There's not even a dent.
(CROSSTALK)
GUTFELD: What about school choice? What about school choice?
BOLLING: What about terror? Hezbollah?
WILLIAMS: Hezbollah. I don't see -- I don't know. I don't see Rubio
(CROSSTALK)
BOLLING: But he's been involved.
(CROSSTLK)
WILLIAMS: What did Bush say? (Inaudible) and Bush put up an ad from all the state leaders in Florida saying Rubio doesn't make the top deal.
(CROSSTALK)
MCCAIN: I mean, he has a lot more than that.
WILLIAMS: Is Obama running for the Republican ...
GUTFELD: I was just pointing out their policy.
GUILFOYLE: Have you looked at them speak about foreign policy and national security and about our military?
WILLIAMS: It ain't much.
GUILFOYLE: No.
WILLIAMS: You know what -- you know what, I do remember from Rubio though since we're saying that people are piling on Rubio, is that Rubio went after Christie on the Bridgegate story and I think Christie hasn't forgotten it.
BOLLING: That's a C block.
(LAUGHTER)
BOLLING: All right, we move on to the Democratic race next. The foreign policy failed at last night's debate and other low lights -- low lights from the evening. But before we go, "The Five" is hitting the road again. We'll be live in New Hampshire this Monday and Tuesday on primary day. So please set your DVRs for 5:00 p.m. Eastern and we have a lot more in store tonight. We'll be right back.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
GUTFELD: I made it through an hour of last night's Democratic debate. Like a tapeworm with Tourette's, it was long and loud.
But here's what we learned: Being an old socialist is easy because giving away what you don't own is easy, too. Let's hope young voters realize that people -- their parents, likely -- will end up paying for the crud they think falls like fairy dust from the heavens. But you and me, we knew what we saw. It was a competition between pickpockets.
As usual, national security was way down the shopping list, below Miracle Whip and toothpicks. Almost zilch on terror. Beheadings could be happening on Broadway and these twerps would still be yakking about Wall Street. That's Hillary's target, yet she took tons of money from them. Why? Because they gave it to her. Actually, she probably negotiated those fees. Once again, you're only a progressive when it's other people's paychecks. Anyway, it would be nice to have a Dem who gives a damn about the threats against our country rather than punishing our successful citizens.
And watching these leftists talk about diplomacy as if our threat of force doesn't matter, it's as if their meek ideology relies on the power that they loathe. Instead, as they blame the Koch brothers, you realized it is less a debate than a midnight call-in show for sleepless cranks. It's really just a telethon without a tote bag, a fundraiser for a folly where the dues are paid for by force.
All right, let's go around. What did you think of the debate?
MCCAIN: I thought his answer on North Korea was borderline ridiculous. He said that's a very strange situation. I was like, okay (inaudible) What are you talking about? That's crazy. I also don't understand why Bernie Sanders is so neutered that he will not go after Hillary Clinton. I'm sorry. He said, "we don't give a dam about your e-mails." And last night he was saying nothing about her e-mail scandal, and I'm like this is a blood sport.
I'm not watching this because I want you to two to be polite. I want to see you go after each other and he just doesn't have it in him and I don't think an old man, socialist, folk singer is going to be able to go up against any of our Republican nominees, which is why he should be their nominee, but he's just crazy and Rachel Maddow having them at the end made my head want to pop-up and my brain out of my eyes on the TV.
GUILFOYLE: Look at that.
GUTFELD: That would have been ...
GUILFOYLE: Look at this.
GUTFELD: There you go.
MCCAIN: Is that not unprofessional? I don't understand this at all.
GUILFOYLE: I kind of get it.
MCCAIN: You do?
GUILFOYLE: Look. I mean, look. Just look at the picture. What does it tell you?
GUTFELD: What does it tell you? What are you getting at?
WILLIAMS: What does it...
GUILFOYLE: What does it tell you? She loves them.
GUTFELD: OK. OK, good, good. Good. Just wanted to clarify, America.
Eric, thoughts?
GUILFOYLE: Bolling -- Bolling is...
(CROSSTALK)
BOLLING: Yes. Greg. My thoughts?
GUTFELD: Give it all.
BOLLING: Let me get my thoughts out.
All right. So the first part was hilarious when they're trying to figure out who is more progressive.
GUTFELD: Yes.
BOLLING: Who is -- well, if I'm -- is President Obama progressive? And they're fighting back and forth. It's like the arguments we have at this table sometimes on who's conservative and who's a RINO, who's establishment.
The left does it as well as us. But they spent an amazing amount of time trying to figure out who hated Wall Street more.
GUTFELD: Right.
BOLLING: Think about that. It's Bernie Sanders, by the way. No question.
For Hillary to say that she hates Wall Street is a -- it's laughable; it's hypocritical. She's just an outright blatant liar. She's taking -- in this campaign alone for president, she's taken $21 million from Wall Street, $44 million if you add in her Senate campaign.
And then it happened. Then Chuck Todd did the smartest thing I've seen yet in any of these debates. He said to Hillary, "Will you release the Goldman Sachs speech transcripts?" Because they're transcribed somewhere.
GUTFELD: Yes.
BOLLING: She had no answer for it.
GUILFOYLE: That's a hot one.
BOLLING: And...
GUILFOYLE: Somebody's going to get her.
BOLLING: She can't release it, because that will tell all. Where she is with Wall -- she didn't hate Wall Street. She adores Wall Street. She's got their back. And that's what those speeches were about.
GUILFOYLE: She is totally...
(CROSSTALK)
WILLIAMS: Well, remember, she was the senator from New York.
BOLLING: Right. But she's trying to say she hates them now...
GUILFOYLE: OK, but she's, like, trashing them now.
BOLLING: ... and they need perp walks, and they need Glass-Stiegel. They need bankruptcy laws and she's.
GUILFOYLE: Juan, it's so phony. She's not even in bed with them. She's like in a bathtub naked with Benjamins, like rubbing all the walls.
WILLIAMS: Remember, don't forget. Republicans are still here. I mean, talk about protecting Wall Street, wanting to -- end the regulation of Wall Street.
BOLLING: Juan, I have a question for you.
WILLIAMS: Certainly.
GUTFELD: Here you have Bernie Sanders saying that we are living in a time of horrible inequality and poverty. Seven and a half years after having the greatest progressive leader in history running the country. So who's to blame?
GUILFOYLE: Yes.
GUTFELD: He's had his policies enacted, and this is what you get. More inequality.
WILLIAMS: This is -- this is such a revealing question to me. Because you know what? In '12, Bernie Sanders almost ran against Obama and said Obama had failed to be sufficiently -- this progressive word (UNINTELLIGIBLE) me, because we used to be liberal. And then it was...
GUTFELD: You can't say "liberal" anymore.
WILLIAMS: Now you have to say progressive. I don't know. Anyway. It's like black, remember? Negro. But I won't get into it.
GUTFELD: Thank you for that.
WILLIAMS: I just don't get it. So what? OK, so call him progressive. But the progressive idea right now is at the heart of the debate you're talking about. You know? It's like, who can really advance liberal, left- wing, I'm not supposed to say the, right? That's not PC. Or progressive ideals at this moment. Hillary's argument is Bernie is too extreme.
GUTFELD: Yes.
WILLIAMS: And that would be Obama's argument by the way, Greg, too.
GUTFELD: You know what's interesting? "Progressive" was -- came out before "liberal." And I think they should go all the way to the beginning and just call each other pinkos.
WILLIAMS: Pinkos. Commies.
GUILFOYLE: Whatever you want to say. They can call themselves spotted pigs. I don't care. Because you know what they are, OK? That's what it is. Like Bernie is a socialist. Hillary is not far behind. She tacks so far to the left, good luck, like, getting back over to the other side if she tries to...
WILLIAMS: I have one last question.
(CROSSTALK)
GUILFOYLE: ... laughing.
WILLIAMS: I know what you're saying. But I have one last question.
OK. So Hillary's response is the highlight of what -- you didn't say it but you said to me earlier, was the best debate yet.
BOLLING: I think it was their best debate.
WILLIAMS: So the highlight of the best debate, Gregory, was this. When she goes at him and says, you know what? This is an artful smear...
GUTFELD: I think we have that. Do we want to run it? Do we have time? Oh, it's part of a montage. Forget it.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
HILLARY CLINTON (D), PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: I am 100 percent confident. This is a security review that was requested. It is being carried out. It will be resolved.
But I have to add, if there is going to be a security review about me, there's going to have to be security reviews about a lot of other people, including Republican office holders.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: Are you willing to release the transcripts of all your paid speeches?
CLINTON: I will look into it. I don't know a status, but I will certainly look into it. Enough is enough. If you've got something to say, say it directly. I think it's time to end the very artful smear that you and your campaign have been carrying out in recent weeks.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
WILLIAMS: Now that was...
BOLLING: I like that. The artful smear. What Bernie Sanders was citing were the facts, the facts that she had taken Wall Street money.
WILLIAMS: No, no, no. The suggestion is...
BOLLING: ... as their personal...
WILLIAMS: That's like me saying, you worked on Wall Street so you're one of the bad guys?
BOLLING: He was nailing her on facts. That she flip-flopped on Glass- Spiegel, that she flip-flopped on bankruptcy laws.
WILLIAMS: He's suggesting that she's...
BOLLING: Go back and look where she was with Elizabeth Warren 15 years ago. She's flip-flopped on that. And by the way, I didn't say it's the best debate ever. I said it's the best Democrat debate so far.
WILLIAMS: That's fine.
BOLLING: That's what I was trying...
MCCAIN: She's like, "Come at me, bro. If you're going to say all this stuff on the stump speech, say it to my face." I like that.
GUILFOYLE: I like that, too.
GUTFELD: And he did it.
MCCAIN: And he did it, because he's neutered, and he's a terrible debater.
GUTFELD: All right. Last night, Hillary used her chromosomes to explain why she's not part of the political establishment. An excuse you don't want to miss, next.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
MCCAIN: Hillary Clinton is in denial about a lot of things, but she can't possibly believe Americans brought [SIC] this argument last night that she's not part of the political establishment. Watch.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
SEN. BERNIE SANDERS (I-VT), DEMOCRATIC PRESIDENTIAL CANDIDATE: She has the entire establishment, or almost the entire establishment behind her. That's a fact. Yes, Secretary Clinton does represent the establishment.
CLINTON: Senator Sanders is the only person who, I think, would characterize me, a woman running to be the first woman president, as exemplifying the establishment. And I've got to tell you that it is -- it is really quite -- it's really quite amusing to me.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
MCCAIN: So because she's a woman running for president, that makes her a non-connected outsider. She's a former senator, a former secretary of state, and the wife of a former president. Everyone would characterize her as an establishment candidate.
Greg, my brain is going to explode with that. It's crazy.
GUTFELD: Not again. No.
MCCAIN: Again.
GUTFELD: "I am woman. Hear me bore." She's amazing. If gender is all that matters to be anti-establishment, would she feel that way about a Republican woman or a woman who is pro-life? Are they anti-establishment? And what about all those young women flocking to Sanders? Are they establishment? Are they sexist to boot?
It's amazing when she says "only you." She is establishment. She got there; she's been there. She's done nothing else.
MCCAIN: Yes. Eric.
BOLLING: She's establishment. She spent the night running away from establishment. She spent the night running away from Wall Street, all the things that have made Hillary Clinton Hillary Clinton. At least Jeb Bush stands up and says, "I'm a Bush. I'm part of the name, and I'll -- I'll own that." For some reason -- it's just so characterless.
MCCAIN: Eric. I mean Juan.
BOLLING: Eric?
MCCAIN: I was looking at you.
GUTFELD: They do look alike.
WILLIAMS: You know how it goes.
GUTFELD: They're both very tan.
WILLIAMS: You know what it is? It's not sexism. It's boys. You know? The boys, you know?
BOLLING: We all look...
MCCAIN: All men look the same to me.
WILLIAMS: Men are men are men. Yes.
GUTFELD: She doesn't see color.
WILLIAMS: Yes. You know, so it's not up to me or you. I think it's up to the voters, and I think it's pretty clear the voters see her as the establishment candidate in this race.
MCCAIN: Yes.
WILLIAMS: But I will say this. I remember in '08 when she's running against Obama. I thought, "Oh, she's going to beat Obama." You know why? The establishment is going to rescue the establishment candidate. And the Kennedys and the rest of the Democratic establishment, man, they went right over the Obama and became Obama supporters.
MCCAIN: Yes.
WILLIAMS: So -- and the other point I would make in support of Hillary at this point is we've never had a woman president. But I do think -- I do think that, if you look on the Republican side -- and I read a great piece. I can't remember earlier this week, saying, "Hey, look. You had a Hispanic win in Iowa." Right? And Rubio also coming up very well. And yet, nobody talks about it.
GUTFELD: Yes.
WILLIAMS: And that's fair, because clearly, the kind of organized voice of the Latino community is not in tune with Cruz or Rubio, especially on the No. 1 topic of immigration.
On the contrary, you talk to NARAL, you talk to Planned Parenthood, all the -- all the women's groups, Emily's List, and the like. They're all behind Hillary Clinton.
GUTFELD: Yes, because they're pro-abortion.
MCCAIN: Yes, but she's bleeding millennial women left and right.
I mean, I think the problem with this...
GUILFOYLE: They're all going to Bernie.
MCCAIN: ... is, she is such a victim. She's like "as a woman." And this is why millennial women don't like this. Because you can't attest to be a feminist and want to be treated equally, except when someone's attacking your record. All of a sudden, "I'm a woman. You can't attack me." And I think it's the ultimate in hypocrisy.
GUILFOYLE: Yes, it is. It's a complete hypocrisy. But you know, what else is new with her? Like you said, Bolling, everything that's made her and defined her. She's now, quote, against or denies or, you know, will not affirm any connection with Wall Street or the inside power circles in D.C. You know, just own it.
Yes, I have a tremendous amount of experience. "Yes, I was a former first lady. Yes, I was secretary of state. Yes, I'm a former senator. Deal. That's why you should choose me. Choose me because I'm the most qualified, capable person running on this side. Who cares if I'm a man or a woman? Vote for me because of my experience."
MCCAIN: Yes. She's never going to do that. But there you go.
GUTFELD: Why is she still attaching herself to the whole idea of gender? I don't see male or female.
WILLIAMS: Get out of here.
GUILFOYLE: You mean on your own body? Your own body.
BOLLING: She just identifies with -- you know some people identify with (UNINTELLIGIBLE). Identify with something else.
(CROSSTALK)
WILLIAMS: Like an old hippie looking like Doc Brown. Like, "Oh, no. Don't do it."
MCCAIN: The Super Bowl is just 48 hours away. Our predictions and plans for the big game next.
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
WILLIAMS: There's a fever spreading around the country. Have you caught it? Super Bowl fever. I know we have it.
Just two days away from the big game between Panthers and the Broncos. It's going to be fun but also a very long night. They start late. So it's going to be so much fun that more than 60 million Americans already say they might not show up for work on Monday. They want time to recuperate. Oh, my goodness.
We'd better show up, because we're going to be in New Hampshire the day after the Super Bowl, covering Tuesday's New Hampshire primary.
So I wanted to ask you, Gregory.
GUTFELD: Yes.
WILLIAMS: As a man who knows what it's like to, you know, have that foggy feeling in your head the next morning, what about you?
GUTFELD: And you try to wake me up...
WILLIAMS: I know.
GUTFELD: ... and I just roll over. Hey, if you're going on call in sick on Monday after watching the Super Bowl, you should be fired. You did not play the game. OK? You didn't play the game. You weren't out there.
But this is interesting. It just occurred to me. Could this affect the primary?
GUILFOYLE: You do realize the Super Bowl is on late, and then people go out and party afterwards?
GUTFELD: Not where I'm from.
BOLLING: And the primary (UNINTELLIGIBLE)...
(CROSSTALK)
WILLIAMS: Meghan -- Meghan, what about Beyonce and Coldplay at halftime?
GUTFELD: Boo.
MCCAIN: I only care about Beyonce. Whoever thought Coldplay as a good Super Bowl band is out of their mind. I can't think of anybody that's going to rev up a crowd less.
GUTFELD: Yes.
MCCAIN: I'm sorry. I hate Coldplay.
WILLIAMS: Really?
GUTFELD: Thank you.
MCCAIN: It's such a bad idea.
But Beyonce I love all day long.
But I have to admit, Super Bowl is a really great day if you're not interested in sports. Like, go to a museum, go to the spa, go shopping. There's no crowds anywhere. Also a great day to go to Disneyland. I don't care about sports, because my Cardinals are out. So...
WILLIAMS: All right. So Eric, should we just have Monday be a holiday?
BOLLING: No, watch this game. Watch Cam Newton. Cam Newton is -- besides the fact that he's a fantastic quarterback. Watch his attitude. He's enjoying football. He enjoys that game from the second of the kickoff to the final buzzer. And when you enjoy something, you do better, and you do well.
GUILFOYLE: Bolling likes that. It's like all that swagger.
BOLLING: He is so cool and collected and laughing and just having a good time. Everyone else is, like, all nervous it's the Super Bowl. Watch how relaxed this guy is. It's a great lesson for everyone.
WILLIAMS: By the way, very quick, let me just say, I -- I'm a big fan of sports. But because I love stories so much, and I just think, gosh. You know, if Peyton Manning wins, he goes out on it -- I think this is his final game. He'll go out on an up-note. He can brag to his brother, "I won as many Super Bowls as you." You don't -- doesn't appeal to you?
BOLLING: I think Peyton -- for him to win, I think he has to have his best game ever. Cam Newton rolled his Ford truck four times and played the next week.
WILLIAMS: Tough guy.
All right. So I want to go to the...
GUTFELD: And a bad driver.
WILLIAMS: I want to go to the star, the star of this segment.
GUILFOYLE: He can throw the ball better.
WILLIAMS: Kimberly Guilfoyle. Why is she the star? Because Kimberly loves food.
GUILFOYLE: And food loves me.
WILLIAMS: You know what? And Kimberly, it says the No. 1 item everybody wants on Super Bowl Sunday is...
GUILFOYLE: Chicken wings?
WILLIAMS: Yes.
GUILFOYLE: Yes. And I am -- feast on it on YouTube. The winner of the chicken-wing eating contest. Two at a time. Know how to get it done. So, and there's some wings over there with my brethren.
WILLIAMS: Here's what's amazing to me.
GUILFOYLE: And I got nachos here.
WILLIAMS: No. 1, that Americans want to eat chicken wings. No. 2 that Americans want to eat, baked buffalo wings.
GUTFELD: You know what's terrible, Juan?
GUILFOYLE: Those are very good, too.
GUTFELD: If you go around America, you see all these chickens without wings.
WILLIAMS: Are they football players? Do they have concussions?
MCCAIN: What about alcohol? It's Bud Light, right?
WILLIAMS: I don't know.
MCCAIN: I'm sure Bud Light beer. That's so American.
GUILFOYLE: Beer is good. Bud Light. Coors Light.
WILLIAMS: Hey, remember -- remember when we had that queso contest?
GUTFELD: Yes.
GUILFOYLE: Oh, my God.
WILLIAMS: And somebody put in a queso that had a lot of meat in it?
GUTFELD: Yes.
WILLIAMS: I think we know the guy who did this, the guy who runs the show, Porter Berry. But anyway, it says here that right here -- I can't believe this.
GUILFOYLE: Those are spicy.
WILLIAMS: The No. 4 item is, guess what? A dip with meat in it.
GUILFOYLE: That's what Porter makes.
MCCAIN: Sounds delicious.
BOLLING: Fascinating, Juan. Fascinating.
WILLIAMS: Fascinating? I don't know.
GUILFOYLE: Juan, you just said what that is. That's the queso with the meat in it.
WILLIAMS: But what is football cake? That's what I wanted to ask you. What is football cake? I don't have any idea.
BOLLING: A cake in the shape of a football.
WILLIAMS: That's it?
BOLLING: Pretty much.
MCCAIN: Sounds awesome.
WILLIAMS: I had no idea!
GUTFELD: Juan is determined...
(CROSSTALK)
BOLLING: ... the Redskins.
GUILFOYLE: Always surprised.
WILLIAMS: You see, now I'm going to go. "One More Thing" is up next.
GUILFOYLE: Oh, potatoes...
(COMMERCIAL BREAK)
GUILFOYLE: It's time now for "One More Thing" -- Eric.
BOLLING: OK. So I'll be on O'Reilly tonight with Geraldo, where he will do some Clinton-splaining. And we'll have to have none of that, and we'll fix that.
But also, check out these five guys who have hit all 50 Super Bowls. Watch.
WILLIAMS: Wow.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We've been blessed to have the opportunity to say this is 50 years.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: I've been thinking about 60. Super Bowl 60. And where we're going to go, and if we're going to still play golf. And that's what I've been thinking about.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: God's been so good to us, it's unreal.
UNIDENTIFIED MALE: We're devoted to each other, and we're devoted to the Super Bowl.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
BOLLING: Awesome. Good for you, fellows.
GUILFOYLE: Very nice. Well done. Greg.
GUTFELD: Show tomorrow, I think it's -- what time is it? Ten p.m. Oh, yes. (UNINTELLIGIBLE) Going to have Gavin McInnes and Julian Turner. Also, I'll be drunk-tweeting the debate and the hashtag is "DDT, "drunk debate tweet."
And since Dana is not here, Meghan, I'm going to do a corny joke for her. What do you call a bunch of women in lingerie on a boat? A teddy cruise.
BOLLING: Nice.
GUILFOYLE: Yes. Somehow I think Dana wouldn't have done that one.
GUTFELD: Yes. You know what?
BOLLING: (UNINTELLIGIBLE)
GUILFOYLE: No. Yes. I mean, I've been on one of those. But besides -- all right.
WILLIAMS: Holy moly!
GUILFOYLE: Juan.
WILLIAMS: Wow.
How about Megyn Kelly on her big appearance on "The Tonight Show" with Jimmy Fallon last night? Also, today on "Good Morning, America." Go, Megyn Kelly.
Here's Megyn last night explaining why FOX decided to use video with the candidates in the last debate.
(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)
MEGYN KELLY, FOX NEWS ANCHOR: It's so much different to hear them in their own words, you know, sort of walk us through their history. And it's much more difficult for them to weasel out of the earlier positions when the audience has just seen them say the thing. But even -- even in the face of that, they tried to tell me they didn't say the things they said.
JIMMY FALLON, HOST, NBC'S "THE TONIGHT SHOW WITH JIMMY FALLON": Yes.
KELLY: It's like, "They just saw it!"
FALLON: It's on video!
KELLY: The magic of video.
(END VIDEO CLIP)
WILLIAMS: Wow. You can catch Megyn also on "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" on Sunday right after the Super Bowl. I'm sure Greg will be up.
And also, FOX News Channel has announced Megyn, Bret and Chris Wallace will host the third Republican debate primary in Detroit on March 3, five days after that state -- five days before, I should say, the state's primary.
GUILFOYLE: She did a great job, and she looked fantastic, too.
So let's talk about women and how important they are. Because today is the 13th annual National Wear Red Day. And my sister here, Ms. McCain, is wearing red, as well.
WILLIAMS: What about your brother?
GUILFOYLE: I appreciate that, thank you. And Bolling has red on his flag. And Greg?
GUTFELD: I'm wearing something red.
GUILFOYLE: Greg lost.
We're all wearing this today, because heart disease and stroke can cause one in three deaths among women every year. So make sure that you do your wellness check every year and make sure that you eat well. Unlike what I just did. And take care of yourselves, because your lives matter, and your families care about you. Right?
MCCAIN: That's awesome.
All right. My "One More Thing" is the lovely and amazing Janice Dean, who's the meteorologist here on FOX News, her husband celebrated 20 years as a New York Fire Department -- a member of the New York Fire Department. His name is Captain Sean Newman (ph), and he was part of a graduating class where eight of his fellow firemen perished on 9/11, and obviously, respect to them who couldn't celebrate 20 years.
But just so wonderful. I love her so much. And so cool. Twenty years as a firefighter in this great city of ours.
GUTFELD: Those are the poles that matter.
MCCAIN: Those are the poles that matter.
GUILFOYLE: Very nice. Well done.
All right. That's it.
BOLLING: Say good-bye.
GUILFOYLE: Set your DVRs. Never miss an episode of "The Five." That's it for us. Have a great weekend, everyone. You know it. "Special Report" next.
