Now some fresh pickings from the Political Grapevine...

Everyone's a Critic

The FBI is apparently looking to get into the media criticism business.

The bureau wants to hire a firm that will grade media stories on whether they are positive or negative for the feds.

The Washington Times reports, FBI officials will not reveal why the information is needed.

It says the grading will be left up to the contractor's judgment as part of a contract to provide a bureau-wide daily news briefing.

One critic says it is raises troubling questions.

Quote -- "It might affect the way they're going to approach your questions if you're on the 'bad list.'"

This is not the first time the Obama administration has sought to take the temperature of the media.

During the BP oil spill and the cleanup a vendor was paid $18,000 to report on the tone of news stories.

Long Memory

Remember, if you like your health care plan you can keep it?

Well, critics of ObamaCare sure do including an unlikely source.

A former lawmaker says -- quote -- "He should never have said as much as he did, that if you like your current health care plan, you can keep it. That wasn't true. And you shouldn't lie to people."

That is not a quote from a Republican, or even a moderate Democrat in a tight election.

That is recently retired Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank.

The Democrat also called the rollout appalling and says he does not understand why the president did not check on the preparations on a weekly basis.

What Your Mother Told You

Finally, if you do not have anything nice to say don't say anything at all.

That seems to be the policy for weddings at the Union Street Guest House in Hudson, New York.

Quote -- "There will be a $500 fine...for every negative review...placed on any Internet site by anyone in your party."

After the policy went viral, it was deleted with a Facebook explanation. The policy was -- quote -- "a tongue-in-cheek response to a wedding many years ago...It was never enforced."

Many were not convinced, though, with the second response being I don't believe that for an instant.

The Facebook post has now also been deleted.
