ERIC BOLLING, GUEST HOST: All right, you're looking live at a shot of the White House right now where the White House tours have been suspended, I guess temporarily. Who knows. We're trying to get those doors back open. A lot of people are e-mailing and Twittering.
Bruce Creet (ph) says, "This needs to be trending -- Open our White House."
And Jay Carney -- "Thank you, Eric Bolling, for your offer."
Eric Bolling -- "That's more American than our whiny president could ever be. We need those doors open, President Obama. That's what we're saying. Open the doors."
Anyway, all right, listen.

REP. NANCY PELOSI, D-CA, HOUSE MINORITY LEADER: Tax cuts are spending. Tax expenditures, they are called.

BOLLING: That's what Nancy calls spending. Mike Huckabee says it's not spending when you're letting people keep more of their hard-earned money.
Huck, let's show Nancy what real spending is, shall we?
(LAUGHTER)
BOLLING: How many times have you heard her say that? That's a common theme with her, is it not?
MIKE HUCKABEE, R - FORMER ARKANSAS GOVERNOR: Well, it's a common theme with liberals.
And the presumption is that your money belongs to the government and they let you have what they think that you need according to their standards. And that's the most nonsensical thing about how economics functions that one could ever hear. And it's why that the Democrats really believe that higher taxes are perfectly fine, because they believe that their power to tax is right in keeping with their idea that it is their money after all. They're just getting a little more of it back than they were.
BOLLING: Oh, it sounds like when they say that, that lowering your taxes, or letting you keep more of your money is spending, it sounds like they think they deserve all of it and you're lucky to have what they give you.
HUCKABEE: Absolutely. It's their money.
BOLLING: All of it.
HUCKABEE: And so if they give you some taxes back, they have spent money because they have let you keep your own. In their world, in this magical world of liberals, that's spending, because you got to keep your money.
It never occurred to them that we're the ones who are spending our money to pay the taxes to fund a government that is way bigger than it ever should have been.
BOLLING: Check out some of the examples of things we're spending -- or they're our money on.
Look at the first one, $2.5 billion of SNAP -- there we go -- $2.5 billion in improper SNAP payments made in 2012. I got a hunch, Huck, it's probably a lot higher than that. This one, though, $947,000, almost a billion dollars, million dollars -- billion dollars -- million? -- $947,000 spent in 2012 to study the best food for astronauts to eat on Mars.
HUCKABEE: A Mars Bar, that is what you should eat on Mars. That is real simple. I can save them a million dollars on that one.
BOLLING: But what about the moon? That's not food for the moon? It's only for Mars?
HUCKABEE: Only for Mars, yes, because that's the kind of nutty stuff, whether it's the robotic squirrel, the $277,000 for calligraphers. It's clear that the government does not have a revenue problem.
Eric, last year, the government had a record year in revenues, the highest ever. So if we're not balancing the budget with that much more money than they have ever had, giving them more is like giving an extra pint of whiskey to a 17-year-old with the car keys to a Mercedes. It doesn't make any sense.
WILLIAMS: Right. So, Huck, if we're spending $2.5 billion on here and there, $300,000 on these things, balloons for fairs, what about the White House tours? Should they be shutting that tour down?
HUCKABEE: Well, of course not. And they're doing that strictly because it's a way to create this imagery that, oh, the sequestration is just devastating to the national budget.
Well, stop the wine tasting that the USDA is going to have out in the wine country of California. I think meat inspections are probably more important than wine tasting. Those are the kind of decisions that the government is making, arbitrarily, to try to inflict as much pain on the people as possible.
BOLLING: But, why? I asked Guy Benson earlier. And we talked about it. But why do they want to scare us? Why do they want to have us feel like it's going to be painful?
HUCKABEE: Well, because the president needs for it to be painful. He said it was going to be. He has basically been caught with so many Pinocchios, according to The Washington Post, that now if he says, well, it really wasn't that bad.
BOLLING: All right. Huck, I got to go, but I want to ask you, though but there are Republicans also that warned us of sequestration too.
HUCKABEE: Most of them because of the defense cuts, and there are going to be some consequences. They're not good, because there's no discretion. That's what needs to happen, discretion, good judgment. We don't have either one of those things operating in Washington right now.
BOLLING: All right, what's coming up on your show this weekend?
HUCKABEE: Well, we have got I think the real answer. We have got three governors, all of whom cut their own budgets in their states. We will talk about how do you actually go about cutting a budget? These are people who have had to do it. They know what they're talking about.
