And now some fresh pickings from the Political Grapevine...

Little Help From Friends

While campaigning today in Ohio, Vice President Joe Biden joked that he brought his daughter along to make sure he did not make any mistakes.

On the next stop in the state of Ohio, she missed this one.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

VICE PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: This is a guy who's running all the ads here in Iowa saying that he's going to get tough on China. I've been in -- I've had the great privilege of being able to be in this state now, I think it's my 25th event, I'm not sure, but I've been all over the state.

Of course it was the state of Ohio. It's not the first time Biden has apparently forgotten where he was. Back in August, you may remember, the vice president told a Virginia crowd that together they could win North Carolina.

The Donald

Donald Trump hyped a major announcement today. Here's how that went.

(BEGIN VIDEO CLIP)

DONALD TRUMP: If Barack Obama opens up and gives his college records and applications, and if he gives his passport applications and records, I will give to a charity of his choice...a check, immediately for $5 million.

(END VIDEO CLIP)

White House adviser David Plouffe declined to comment directly, saying reaction should come from the Romney campaign because -- quote -- "Donald Trump is Mitt Romney's biggest supporter, so he owns everything [Trump] says."

The Internet seemed underwhelmed.

Sellout

Finally, the Daily Caller noted something a bit odd in the inbox today. Newsweek is still selling one-year subscriptions for the low rate of just $37.

And not even the fine print tells the whole story.

Quote -- "I figured it might disclose the detail that Newsweek will actually cease printing its magazine in a little over two months. But no. It just says 'offer valid in U.S.A. only and subject to change.'"

The Daily Caller speculates this might be a case of consumer fraud especially since the soon-to-be-defunct magazine delivers through the U.S. mail.
