And now some fresh pickings from the Political Grapevine...

Earthly Matters

Senator John Kerry says climate change is as dangerous as the threat of an Iranian nuclear bomb.

He made the statement during a speech in the Senate on Wednesday.

SEN. JOHN KERRY, D - MA: I believe the situation that we face Mr. President, is as dangerous as any of the sort of real crises that we talk about. Today we had a hearing in the Foreign Relations Committee on the subject of Syria, and we all know what's happening with respect to Iran and nuclear weapons, and the possibility even of a war.

The Massachusetts Democrat is reportedly vying to be the next secretary of state if President Obama is re-elected.

Spook Spoof

The Washington Post reports that a profile claiming to be the official CIA Twitter handle did trick a few people into thinking it was real until tweets like this one this popped up -- quote -- "Dear Ayatollah @khamenei_ir, please consider tweeting in English. Our sole Arabic speaking NED analyst is out on vacation this week. Thanks!"

The account has been removed. But while the CIA imposter remains a mystery the Ayatollah has made himself more accessible.

Iran's supreme leader, who does use Twitter, has apparently joined the photo-sharing site Instagram where he's posted four pictures of himself.

Parting Words

And finally, when 30-year-old Aaron Collins died unexpectedly his family found a specific request in his will.

Collins asked that they -- quote -- "leave an awesome tip" something like $500 for a pizza.

Well, the family set up a blog called Aaron's Wish and has raised approximately $50,000.

Aaron's brother Seth Collins has so far left four $500 tips and plans to continue doing that as long as the money will last.
