And now some fresh pickings from the Political Grapevine:
On the Job Hunt
Vice President Joe Biden might be interested in a promotion.
Politico reports Biden surprised some big Democratic donors in Cincinnati last week when he told them to keep him in mind for 2016. The vice president reportedly raised the possibility unprompted which in turn raised some eyebrows.
One writer for Business Insider wrote this -- quote -- "The possibility of another go-around with the Biden gaffe machine likely has many in Washington wishing they'd gone up with The Rapture."
Still Here
As you've probably heard by now, the end of the world predicted for Saturday did not happen.
Family Radio's Harold Camping told the San Francisco Chronicle that he was -- quote -- "flabbergasted" that the beginning of the end of the world did not take place Saturday and that -- quote -- "It has been a really tough weekend."
This was the second time Camping's Apocalypse forecast did not pan out. After the end of days came and went in 1994, he blamed a mathematical error.
Some followers went all-in on Camping's predictions. One man spent most of his life savings to spread the message, but Camping's preaching drew harsh criticism from most fellow Christians.
Crystal Ball
And finally, Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis is offering his own doomsday prediction about how fans will react if the NFL lockout continues into the fall.
Lewis told ESPN -- quote -- "Watch how much evil -- which we call crime -- watch how much crime picks up if you take away our game."
Asked why he thought fans would behave that way Lewis said -- quote -- "there's nothing else to do."
