War of Words

The Democratic National Committee is waging a war with the Weekly Standard over what appears to be a third-party "spiking the football" for President Obama after the killing of Usama bin Laden.

The Weekly Standard reported that if you type gutsycall.com into your web browser it redirects to barackobama.com.

The Standard speculated that the "gutsycall" site was created by the president's campaign team.

A Democratic Party official tells Fox News that neither the DNC nor the Obama campaign bought the website. The Obama campaign separately told Fox it did not purchase the site.

But the DNC did just pull and plunk down some cash for the URL Weeklynostandards.com which redirects users to the Weekly Standard website.

Failure to Communicate

A new report finds that 47 percent of the people who live in Detroit are "functionally illiterate" -- not able to use reading, writing, speaking and computational skills in everyday life situations.

Of the 200,000 members of Detroit's illiterate population approximately half have either a high school degree or a GED.

At the same time, Detroit's public schools spent an average of $13,100 per student in 2008. That's about $3,000 above the national average.

Unsportsmanlike Conduct

And now that the government has taken care of Usama bin Laden -- or UBL -- it may be going after another much-hated entity, the BCS.

The Justice Department has asked the group that runs college sports why it does not have a major college football playoff system instead of the much-maligned Bowl Championship Series. Attorney General Eric Holder mentioned the letter earlier this week. The government's angle, the current system may violate federal anti-trust laws.

The BCS has raised the ire of many lawmakers when schools in their states have been left out of the mix. In 2008, then-candidate Obama promised to -- quote -- "throw his weight around a little bit" to try to get a playoff system.
