And now some fresh pickings from the Political Grapevine...

Color Bind

Attorney General Eric Holder is once again raising eyebrows with comments about race.

He told the New York Times some of his critics are motivated by their animus against his boss -- President Obama.

Quote -- "This is a way to get at the president because of the way I can be identified with him --

Both due to the nature of our relationship and -- you know -- the fact that we're both African-American."

Back in 2009 -- Holder was criticized for saying America is a quote -- "Nation of cowards" when discussing race.

Today -- Florida Republican Congressman Allen West -- who is African-American -- told The Daily Caller Holder's use of the race card is --"reprehensible."

Are We There Yet?

The January third caucuses are just around the corner -- but it appears most Americans just want the race to be finished.

A Gallup survey found 70 percent of Americans would rather the 2012 presidential campaign be over and it already be election day -- compared to 26 percent who can't wait for it all to begin in Iowa.

Kim: A Eulogy

Finally -- Kim Jong Il has been a mainstay in the Grapevine over the years.

So we thought we'd compile some of the most amazing items North Korean state media reported about the reclusive leader.

Kim they said was an accomplished golfer.

He once shot 38-under par on a regulation 18-golf course -- in a round that included at least 11 holes-in-one.

He was also a worldwide style icon.

His jumpsuits became a global fashion phenomenon again, according to state-run reporting

He loved Hennessy cognac -- apparently spending $800,000 dollars a year on the drink.

He also composed six operas in just two years.
