And now some fresh pickings from the Political Grapevine...

Trick Not a Treat

The Virginia Republican Party was spooked by an e-mail sent out by the Loudoun County GOP that depicted President Obama as a zombie with a hole in h is head.

The image is contained in a mailer obtained by the Loudoun Insider inviting Republicans to a Halloween parade to -- quote -- "...vanquish the zombies with clear thinking conservative principles and a truckload of Republican candy."

Virginia Democrats pounced immediately, calling it disgusting and violent. The state GOP quickly condemned the image and has asked for an apology.

We Are the 1%?

Occupy Wall Street protesters decry the wealthiest one percent and their battle cry has become "we are the 99 percent," pointing to the income disparity in America.

However, investing site Motley Fool points out if you look globally, one would only need to earn $34,000 a-year to be among the top one percent of the world.

Since nearly half of the world's population earn less than $2 a day -- quote -- "Americans we consider poor are among some of the world's most well-off...many of those protesting the one percent are, ironically, the one percent."

Unhappily Ever After

And finally, ending on a story we usually would not put on "Special Report" - even in the Grapevine - but we did tonight. Things often do not last long in Hollywood and reality star Kim Kardashian's marriage to professional basketball player Kris Humphries is no exception.

After just 72 days of less-than-wedded bliss, Kardashian filed for divorce this morning -- citing irreconcilable differences.

Kardashian says she came to her decision after much consideration.

Quote -- "I had hoped this marriage was forever but sometimes things don't work out as planned."

Humphries says he's committed to the marriage. Just 10 weeks ago the couple's lavish wedding garnered over-the-top media coverage and a four hour TV special. No word on when the inevitable "what went wrong" TV special will air.
